| vintage report 2008
The major handpicking event took place on 8 April with all the Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris picked. With inclement weather imminent we had a small window of opportunity so threw it all at this day. As a result it was all over in a surprisingly orderly fashion.
Definitely there were issues with the vintage. They ranged from exploding conveyers and capsized harvesters to no trucks! And too many part filled tanks. Climatically we got through..... Early Sauvignon Blanc is, as usual, stunning and the exhaustive leaf-plucking and fruit thinning sure paid dividends on the aromatics and the Pinot Noir. Bottling is 8 August and we are confident that THE will once again deliver the goods.
