2009 marlborough sauvignon blanc

From the ground up we start with the basics, to make not good, but great wine. Vines nurtured with passion, grown against a backdrop of clay terraces and natural springs in the heart of Marlborough’s Wairau Valley. We know this land, this soil, these grapes. Our wine reflects this. Crafted with patience, it's the very essence of all that we are.

In a nutshell…

Plentiful aromas of tropical fruit and freshly chopped capsicum with zesty flavours of ripe fruit salad, just-picked garden herbs and mineral and floral overtones. Classic Marlborough.

Sauvignon Blanc 2009 Bottle

Colour

Pale straw with a green hue

Aroma / Bouquet

"Classic" regional grapefruit and lemon zest, bell pepper and fresh herbs

Palate

A clean lively palate supported on a seamless texture with a refreshing fruit accent and crisp acidity.

Suggested Food Matches

This wine is ideal for accompanying pasta dishes, crisp summer salads and seafood especially shellfish such as greenshell mussels and oysters.  Serve Chilled.

Grape Growing

The vines were pruned to 2-3 canes, with vertical shoot positioning. Balanced pruning, shoot thinning, tucking and trimming ensured a partially shaded canopy was maintained. A dry ripening period allowed the fruit reach optimum maturity. The full canopy enabled the retention of the intense flavours that Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is famous for.
