THE newsletter from terrace heights estate - March 2010

Mid March means getting the forks on the tractor, checking that the loader is ready and also watching with fingers crossed the bevy of cold fronts that seem to belt up the south island at this time of year.

2010 harvest is looking excellent. Flavours are building beautifully, and with no botrytis risk evident a classic Marlborough vintage is in the offing.
We have had a major change at THE HQ with administration moving in-house to Elaina Culbert who brings a wealth of experience in the wine industry to the management of the brands.
If any of you are lucky enough to be up the pointy end (business class) on longhaul Air New Zealand over the next nine months you will be treated to THE Sauvignon Blanc 2009, but for the rest of us it is widely available throughout NZs independent wine shops.

We have moved onto our 2009 vintages for THE Pinot Gris & Viognier with both gaining Silver medals at the recent Royal Easter Show in Auckland.
Exports are moving along with China, Australia & US markets improving by the day. As the Northern Hemisphere warms up so does the demand for NZ aromatic white wines so let’s all hope for a scorching Summer in the North so we can move onto 2010 vintage with stock levels manageable and quality impeccable.
Cheers
Steve
