Steve Hammond

Born and bred in Renwick! Don't know whether that a positive or not but it was a far smaller place growing up than it is today.

This area of Marlborough was first planted by Allen Hogan the founder of Te Whare Ra wines.At this time the Hammonds were growing cherries and apples along with traditional mixed pastoral farming.

Steve worked in these various crops and then began planting grapes in 1993 and basically hasn't stopped since.

Steve is kept busy keeping track of his three teenage daughters who never bloody stop!

Elaina Culbert

Originally based in Marlborough with a passion for wine, Elaina has worked in the wine industry for the last four years. Before that, Elaina returned to NZ after three years of work and travel throughout UK and Europe. Her favourite place to live abroad was Cardiff where she had the fortunate experience to be part of the Welsh Tourist Board's marketing team. Elaina now works for THE doing accounts and admin from our Christchurch based office and is loving being back amongst the city life!
